Child Guidance

The children of Little Bees Early Learning Centre are to be treated with respect, love, kindness, patience and understanding. Children will never be subjected to any form of verbal, emotional or physical abuse. Children will never be denied the physical necessities as per license requirements.

We do understand that unacceptable behaviours may occur. We will use positive language to encourage positive behaviours and intervene at crucial times to speak one-on-one with the child about their behaviour. We will use positive reinforcement, encouraging efforts and recognizing accomplishments. All children have bad days and we want to help each child express emotions in a safe and healthy way that doesn’t cause harm to themselves, other children or staff.

When an Educator notices a child needs a quiet space to reflect on behaviour, steps will be taken to accommodate the child whether that is a quiet location in the classroom or another available quiet area to reflect.

If the child continuously disregards the set-out guidelines, we will consult the parent. If we do not resolve this, a withdrawal request may be issued.

We will not accept or tolerate intentional aggressive and violent behaviour that puts other children and staff in harms way.
